Apply for Permanent Residence through the Canada Express Entry

One online service that has simplified the process of immigrating to Canada is the Express Entry system.

Even if there are requirements to participate, those who meet them have a better chance of coming to Canada or obtaining permanent residency.

What exactly is Canada’s express entry program?

The Canada Express Entry program is a way for eligible people who want to move to Canada or get permanent residency to organize and process their applications.

It is an online system that is used to keep track of skilled workers’ requests for permanent residency. This way of moving to Canada is actually one of the easiest ways to do so.

Who can apply for the Canada Express Entry program?

To be eligible for the Canada Express Entry program, you must meet all of the following requirements.

  • You must possess a university degree or in the stead of that, a college degree.
  • You must have substantial knowledge of skill alongside your degree
  • You must be less than 30 years
  • Proficiency in English language or French language or both

If you meet these basic requirements, Canada’s Express Entry program will consider you eligible. Also, candidates who qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) are also eligible for the Canada Express Entry program.

What are the most important things?

In general, a skilled worker must meet some basic requirements to be eligible for the Canada Express Entry program.

  • First, you have to have worked full-time in your field of expertise for at least one year in the last 10 years. Part-time experience is sometimes also accepted, as long as it gives the same amount of service as a full-time practice.
  • Second, you have to do well on a French or English language test that has been approved. No less than seven CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark)
  • You also have to have an Educational Credential Assessment done on your post-secondary education to make sure it meets Canadian standards.

The minimum requirements for Canada’s Express Entry program are the things listed above. This does not guarantee that you will be invited to apply for permanent residency. Stronger candidates will always be chosen over those who just meet the minimum requirements.

All candidates who apply will be given a CRS score, and those with higher scores will definitely be chosen and invited to apply over those with lower scores.

A person’s CRS score can be affected by how well they speak a language, how much work experience they have, how old they are, how well they know Canadians, and how much education they have.

How to apply for Canada express entry Program

When applying for the Canada Express Entry program, there are processes that must be followed. The procedures are as follows:

Check to see if you are eligible

This is the first thing you need to do to apply for express entry. Before you can make an Express Entry profile, you need to make sure you are eligible.

This can be done with an online tool that gives the applicant a set of questions to answer.

After confirming your eligibility, you can move on to the next step.

Language test

After making sure you are eligible for the program, the next step is to sign up for an English or French language test that meets Canadian standards.

As an applicant, you must take a government-approved language test, and the results must be included in your profile.

Get your educational credentials assessed

Get your school records checked out. If you went to school outside of Canada, your credentials need to be compared to a similar Canadian education. This means you need to give your ECA report.

If you are applying through the federal skilled trade program or the Canadian experience class, you don’t have to do this step.

Create a profile

Once you have been approved for the program, you can start setting up your profile. You have to give information like your age, contact information, family size, identity, education history, work history, language skills, and (if you have one) information about your spouse.

Submit your profile

After making your profile and filling in the necessary information, you need to click the “Submit” button, which sends your application to IRCC. After this, you will get an Express Entry profile number and a job seeker validation code.

If your profile meets all the requirements, you will be put in the express entry pool. It’s important to remember that being in the Express Entry pool doesn’t always mean that you’ll be invited to apply for permanent residency.

You only get an invitation if your CRS score is at or above the minimum score set by the IRCC for an express entry draw.

Update your profile often

This is the last thing you need to think about. Check your profile often and add new details as they come up. For example, if your family has changed because of birth, marriage, death, etc., you should change that part of your profile.

Your point could also go up if you kept your profile up-to-date. For example, if you get a better score on a language test or get more work experience, these things could help you get more points.

Keep in mind that your profile for Express Entry is only good for one year. That is, IRCC will remove your profile from the pool if you are not invited to apply within a year of making your profile.

Also, your profile could be invalidated before a year is up if it no longer meets the criteria for Express Entry.
